Children of Same Sex Couples

This week, ABC news released a story on children of same sex couples being at risk.

It stated:

"According to the 2010 Census, two million children in the United States are being raised by lesbian, bisexual, gay and transgender parents (LGBT), the majority of them in southern states."

and

"And now a new study, "All Children Matter," concludes that these children have become the "collateral damage" of laws and policies that discriminate against LGBT Americans."

The article deals with issues such as power of attorney in hospital cases and other such laws.

I am curious, what do you all think? Is it right for the children in these partnerships to suffer? Should that effect how laws are made?

  1. I think same-sex couples should have the same legal rights as heterosexual couples. When such laws as the ones discussed in the article are made, people are always crying, "Think of the children." But no one really is, the disenfranchised children least of all.
